Large marine caissons have been successfully used for a variety of applications including breakwaters, bridge foundations, marine terminals, offshore exploration islands, dams, airports and storm surge barriers. The construction engineers, structural engineers and geotechnical engineers on the BSCE staff are familiar with these applications and the engineering required for successful installation of caissons. They are also familiar with the many challenges associated with caisson installation and potential solutions to address these challenges.
