BSCE provides a full range of foundation design services for major bridge projects, including seismic and soil-structure interaction analysis and detail design of deep marine foundations. The structural, geotechnical, and construction engineers on the BSCE team are experienced in designing cost efficient deep marine foundations in areas of high seismicity and deep soft marine sediments. The BSCE construction and structural engineers, while working with Ben C. Gerwick, Inc., helped pioneer the use of off-site prefabrication and overwater installation of large substructure elements.

The BSCE team specializes in developing innovative highly efficient foundation solutions that minimize construction cost, schedule and risk while improving on long term durability. This optimization is made possible and is accomplished through a full understanding of: the difficulties encountered in the marine environment, and the full range of construction options available. This experience and knowledge allows the BSCE design team to develop and detail new construction options to meet the challenging problems encountered in offshore environments and difficult soil conditions. The BSCE engineers are versed in the design and construction of large concrete and steel sunken caissons, large gravity base structures, large diameter driven piles and drilled shafts.
